Halloween Weekend Recap In Savannah

Long story short, I drank a lot of beer.  On Friday, I picked up a six pack of craft beers from White Whale to take to a house party. White Whale Craft Ales is a magical new place where you can buy lots of local, regional and craft beers from all over the country. It’s located conveniently south of Forsyth Park on Bull Street.

Saturday, I went to see a foreign film that was having a screening as part of the Savannah Film Fest.  My friend Steve Wong, who is a film journalist, recommended the comedy, ‘Toni Erdmann‘. It was long but pretty good. I laughed out loud  at several points in the movie.  Later I went to see Front Porch Improv comedy show.  It was great as usual. Some of the improvisers and I went over to the American Legion for drinks afterward.   Of course, there were people dressed up for Halloween, and I took a few photos.

Super Ladies

Sunday, I went to Sav-A-Lot and I bought some Spam.  I had forgotten how much I like a Spam and cheese sandwich on white bread. You can’t eat fancy artisan food every night.

Burger At Betty Bombers

Betty Bombers is an all-American restaurant located in the back of the historic American Legion Post 135 which is on Bull Street. The burgers are delicious.  I ordered a hamburger with blue cheese and had buffalo wing sauce as the dip for my French fries, so it was like having the flavor of Buffalo wings without the chicken or the celery.
